My *FAVORITE* April Fool's Day prank of *ALL TIME*. No April Fool's Day prank will ever compare (to me, anyway).
My sister's first child was born in Sept of 2002. He was, how do I put this?, high maintenance. I'm not sure that 'high maintenance' is a strong enough term for him. He was a handful and a half.
My sister took him over to my parent's house on April Fool's Day. He was wearing an "I'm going to be a big brother" t-shirt. They told my parents that they were pregnant with twins.
(To which, I'm sure my parent's thought "HOW in the H-E-double hockey sticks are you going to handle HIM and 2 babies?")
April Fools Day! *maniacle laughter* Boy we got you!
A few days later, my sister realized that she was late.
For some reason, no one believed her when she said that she was really and truly pregnant. (Their surprise baby was born November of 2003.)

I'm a day late, but surely anytime is a good time for a good laugh!
