It's done!

The before. This is before almost all of the plaster fell. I should have gotten a picture of that.

The after. YEAH! No more spackle on the floor!

The flowers Brad got me for my rough day!

Le Petit Ecolier

When we lived in France, my grandparents introduced us to these cookies and we fell in love. They are sooo good. Well, that was 7 years ago and we haven't had any since. Though, Mohamed was a champ and brought some Lu's back from France. What a great guy, Melissa! Anyway, I was walking through Meijer the other day and I saw these. My jaw just about dropped! I had to buy a couple of boxes. Brad was so thrilled too! YEAH!

The sky is falling!

Okay, so it isn't the sky, it's my ceiling. They started taking off the spackle around the sky light so they could put it in tomorrow. Yeah! Our house was pretty busy was construction stuff today.

And in happy news, some youth in my ward were doing a service project scavenger hunt. We had them for 20 minutes. In that time, they swept and mopped my kitchen, wiped the counters, vacuumed the living and dining room, and dusted. Whoo hoo! But, most of the girls were distracted by C's adorableness. Can you blame them?

C got lots of attention today. I took her to get her hearing tested this morning. I got there and signed in and a few minutes later, the lady said, "Uh, your appointment isn't today. It's Friday." Oops. A really nice lady in the waiting room said, "She can have my appointment. I just came over from across the street, so it wouldn't be a problem." What a nice lady, huh. So, we switched appointments.

C didn't like getting her hearing tested. Well, to be specific, she didn't like stuff in her ears. Oh, can she scream! But, everyone still thought she was adorable. She passed as much as we could test. She wouldn't keep the stuff in her ears to test each ear individually, but the doctor said she did well enough on everything else that he isn't worried. If she still isn't talking in 6 months, we'll test her again. I'm glad that is done!

Speaking of C's screaming, it is driving me nuts. She does great at saying please, but then screams until we figure out what she wants. We are definitely going to need to teach her more signs or my ears will break.

Book coma

Well, I finally broke down and started reading the books my mom left with me after she went home. It's the Twilight series for those curious. And yes, as much as I love Harry Potter, I loved these more. Mostly because I'm a romantic and that isn't the core of HP books. Anyway. I started reading on Monday night and finished the 3rd book on Thursday. If you are curious, the first book is 512 pages, the second 608, and the third 640. I'm a bit of a reading addict if I get a book I love. I didn't start reading HP until a month or two before the 5th book came out and I hated waiting for books 6 and 7. Ugh. But, now I'm in the position of waiting until Aug for the final book of this series to be out. Dang. I hate waiting for books. I should have just waited until July to start, because now I have a slight obsession. Dang again. I wasn't really in a hurry to start them, because I know how I get with books, but then my mom started calling Brad an Edward, and I just had to know if that was a good thing or not. But I have to agree with my mom. While Brad is an Indian like Jacob, and he keeps me really warm since I'm constantly freezing, he's an Edward.

So, that is why my house is now a disaster. I've put all unneccessary items on the back burner so I could finish. Clean up kids puke, yes, I did that. Wash laundry, did that. Put away laundry, ah, no, not so much. Make sure kids are fed, did that. Do dishes that result, ah, not so much. And now I need to play catch up on my house work. Fun. Actually, Brad is such an Edward that he did the dishes and laundry while I was finishing book 3. He is so amazing.

But now, the kids are done puking, my neighbor has the books, I've read all of the additional reading on her website, and I can go back to normal life. Until Aug that is, when I will probably devote a day to reading book 4. Don't call me on Aug. 3. Seriously, don't.

Let it snow!

Wow, we have been getting buried under snow. In the last 2 weeks we've had 3 snow days. I actually broke my snow shovel. Probably over-use. We finally broke down and bought a used snow blower off Craigslist. It just took me way too long to do our driveway and our street. I just didn't have time! But don't worry, I'll still probably shovel the sidewalks for kicks and giggles.

We've been really busy here. We had my mom come out for a few days. And then a couple of days later our friends the Pierce's came out for a few days. Not only did I get behind on blogging, but I got behind on housework too! Who wants to do laundry when you can watch Bollywood and play games?! By the way, Jill's blog has some great videos clips up from the movie Dhoom 2. If you want to watch some great Bollywood, check it out! Click here!

My house has finally returned to a clean state. As clean as it can get with 3 kids at least. And now I'm blogging. Normal life has returned!
