Reason 192

Have I mentioned I don't like this house? It has it out for me, it really does. Remember my chili plant I'm trying to bring back to life from seedlings? This is what some wind and some useless windows did to my precious plant: The window blew open because there isn't a good way to keep it shut. It is obvious that people have tried before with various strings and latches. But I didn't think it would open with enough force to knock my plant off the table. You can see the poor, defenseless chili plants lying in their own dirt. So sad. Let's hope they recover from the trauma.
This pot has the older chili plants that weren't damaged. Let's hope they stay that way! They've already got a few flowers on them. Wohoo!!! I'm really hopeful to see some chilies soon! Am I asking too much?

And on another note, reason number 73 why I hate this house is that I have to flush with a plunger or deal with water leaking into my dining room as the toilet overflows. Twice a week is too often to deal with overflowing toilets. Urgh.

Duct tape. (for the window. not for the chilis, obviously.)

Sorry about your chili plant. As far as the toilets, I would try using a "snake" tool. That might help. Good luck.

I am soooooo sorry!!!! I know it's unrelated, but when I was little I had a gold fish that got knocked out of its bowl by my cat. We were running from one activity to another, so my mom just threw down some towels and ushered us to our next activity....we were pretty sure that the cat had eaten the fish so we didn't even bother looking for him. 2 hours later we came home and started to clean up the mess. My mom moved the dresser away from the wall and guess what she found.....yup the fish....and HE WAS STILL ALIVE! We figure he just kept flipping back and forth sucking the oxygen out of the water in the carpet....he ended up living for 5 more years!!! So I guess it kind of is related....hopefully the added stress will help your chili plants be stronger!

Sorry about your house! I've been living in a house that I don't love for 7 years now....it's not horrible, I just don't love it! We're hoping to sell soon!

I have an "unclog the toilet" tip. I used to rent a house with an always-clogged toilet, and this seriously works wonders. Pour boiling water into the toilet bowl. The extra water pressure will force it to flush and usually unclog the pipes too. I used to boil four pots of water and dump them all in, one right after another. From my experience, this works better than Drain-O or snakes or even plungers. Good luck!
